Inner Strength
The work of the Spirit is to impart life, to implant hope, to give liberty, to testify of Christ, to guide us into all truth, to teach us all things, to comfort the believer, and to convict the world of sin. ~D. L. Moody
Today's Word
the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; ~ Romans 8:26
Today's Thought
Sometimes, people get distracted by what they consider to be a disadvantage or weakness in their lives.  It may be something about their personality or looks that they don't like.  Or maybe they've been through an unfair situation: a divorce, a bad business deal, or a bad break.  We all have things that can feel like disadvantages; things that make it harder on us.  It may even be a physical handicap where you can't get around like you used to.
But just because you have a "disadvantage," just because you've been through a tough time, doesn't mean you're supposed to sit back and settle where you are.  God still has something great for you to do!
He wants to show Himself strong in and through you.  The Holy Spirit wants to help you when you feel weak.  If you will stay in faith and not get negative toward yourself or your future, then God can take what you think is a liability and turn it into an asset.
Strength is born in the deep silence of long-suffering hearts; not amidst joy.
What you think is a disadvantage, God will turn around to be an advantage so you can move forward into the abundant life He has for you!
Today's Prayer
Father in heaven, today I give You all that I am.  I invite You into the weak places in my life so that You can turn them into strengths.  Thank You for working in my life and filling me with faith and expectancy.  In Jesus Name.  ~Amen.

Mind Detox
One of the greatest life principles is that men can do what they think they can do.
Today's Word
Above all else guard your heart for it affects everything you do. ~Proverbs 4:23
Today's Thought
These days, we hear a lot about detoxing our physical bodies. Bacteria can build up. Pesticides and chemicals can get into our system. Experts recommend that you go through a deep cleansing periodically and stay away from what is harmful so you can rid yourself of these toxins.
In the same way, there are all kinds of toxins that can build up in our minds. When we go around dwelling on the wrong thoughts, thinking about what we can't do, how somebody hurt us, or how we'll never get ahead; those thoughts are toxic. And toxic thoughts left alone become like toxic waste. It gets into your heart, and eventually, contaminates your whole life. It affects your self-image, your attitude, and your level of confidence. That's why the Bible tells us that we have to guard our hearts and minds above all else because if your mind gets polluted, your whole life is going to be polluted.
Make the Decision/Choice today to go on a fast from negative, self-defeating thoughts. Cleanse your mind from what is harmful and fill yourself with thoughts of faith and victory. As you do, those good thoughts will strengthen and empower you to live the good life He has planned for you!
Today's Prayer
Father in heaven, I come to You today willing to let go of anything that would hold me back from Your great promises. I choose to guard my thoughts and fill my heart with Your Word. In Jesus Name. ~Amen.

ANDY ROONEY & PRAYER

HOORAY,  HOORAY, HOORAY for Andy Rooney. I myself have been grumbling and wondering how a handful of people have been able to take our right to pray in public places away from us. So, agreeing with Andy, I GLADLY will forward this email AGAIN, AGAIN AND AGAIN.

Folks, this is the Month that we RE-TAKE
AMERICA
*********
 Get  Ready *********

Keep this going around the  globe . Read it and forward every time you receive it. We  can't give up on this issue.

Andy Rooney and  Prayer

Andy Rooney says:

I don't believe in Santa  Claus, but I'm not going to sue somebody for singing a  Ho-Ho-Ho song in December.  I don't agree with Darwin, but I didn't go out and hire a lawyer when my high school  teacher taught his Theory of Evolution.

Life, liberty or your pursuit of happiness will not  be endangered because someone says a 30-second prayer before a football game. So what's the big deal?  It's not like somebody is up there reading the entire Book of Acts.  They're just talking to a God they believe in and asking him to grant safety to the players on the field and the fans going home from the game.

But it's a Christian prayer, some will argue.

Yes, and this is the United States of America, a country founded on Christian principles.  According to our very own phone book, Christian churches outnumber all others better than 200-to-1.  So what would  you expect -- somebody chanting Hare Krishna?

If I went to a football game in Jerusalem, I would expect to hear a Jewish prayer...

If I went to a soccer game in
Baghdad, I would expect to hear a Muslim prayer.

If I went to a ping pong match in China, I would expect to hear someone pray to Buddha.

And I wouldn't be  offended..
It wouldn't bother me one bit.
When in
Rome  .....

But what about the atheists? Is another argument.

What about them? Nobody  is asking them to be baptized.  We're not going to pass the collection plate.  Just humor us for 30 seconds.   If that's asking too much, bring a Walkman or a pair of ear plugs.  Go to the bathroom.  Visit the concession stand.  Call your lawyer!

Unfortunately, one or two will make that call.  One or two will tell thousands what they can and cannot do.. I don't think a short prayer at a football game is going to shake the world's foundations..

Christians are just sick and tired of turning the other cheek while our courts strip us of all our rights.  Our parents and grandparents taught us to pray before eating, to pray before we go to sleep.  Our Bible tells us to pray without ceasing.  Now a handful of people and their lawyers are telling us to cease praying.

God, help us.  And if that last sentence offends you, well, just sue me.

The  silent majority has been silent too long.  It's time we tell that one or two who scream loud enough to be heard that the vast majority doesn't care what they want.  It is time that the majority
Rules
!   It's time we tell them, you don't have to pray; you don't have to say the Pledge of Allegiance; you don't have to believe in God or attend services that honor Him.  That is your right, and we will honor your right; but by golly, you are no longer going to take our rights away.  We are fighting back, and we WILL WIN!

God bless us one and all ...  Especially those who denounce Him ,God  bless America, despite all her faults.  She is still the greatest nation of all. God bless our service men who are fighting to protect our right to pray and worship God.

Let's make 2009
the year the silent majority is heard and we put God back as the foundation of our families and institutions. And our military forces come home from all the wars.

Keep looking  up.

 GOD'S WORSHIPPERS
Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth."
Juan 4:23-24

  It's Time to Believe!
Whoever You Trust Controls Your Future.
Today's Word
[Not in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you [energizing and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight. ~Philippians 2:13
Today's Thought
It's time to believe again.
You may have situations that look like they're set in stone, but everything you're facing is subject to change. It is not over until God says it is over.
Even if you've been praying for a situation for ten or thirty years, God is still at work and has an answer. We shouldn't accept the difficult situations in our lives or unanswered prayers as permanent.
Despite what's going on externally, no matter how long things have been the way they are, decide to hope and believe in God. In the natural, things may look the same, but the Bible says that God is constantly at work in those who believe.
We need to have the attitude that we are not moved by what we see, but we are moved by what we know.
What we know is that the Creator of the universe is at work in those who believe in His resurrecting power. Do you believe in the power of Almighty God? If you'll remember how big God is and view every difficult situation as temporary, you will come to a new season of peace, faith and hope.
God is always at work in those who believe!
Today's Prayer
Father In heaven; I Choose to BELIEVE ! In spite of circumstance, or physical evidence, I will Believe Your Word over my feelings. Energize me with an awareness of Your Presence. Today. In Jesus Name. ~Amen.

  You!
If one is estranged from oneself, then one is estranged from others too. If one is out of touch with oneself, then one cannot touch others. ~Anne Lindbergh
Today's Word
I know you by name and you have found favor with Me. ~ Exodus 33:12
Today's Thought
When actors audition for a part, the director conducts what are known as 're-calls.' At that point the performer either gets the part or it goes to somebody else. You know you've 'got it made,' when the director offers you the part without even auditioning for it.
Well, God doesn't need to do auditions and re-calls. That's because He's already designed a role just for you. Nobody else could possibly fill it or meet the requirements. You're a 'designer original' with a PhD in being yourself! Even if others were to study you endlessly, they still couldn't be you.
When God says, "I know you by name and you have found favor with Me," it means He's already chosen you for a particular role. So be careful about responding to any other call except the one that comes from Him, because good ideas aren't necessarily God ideas!
Since God designed you with all the built-in qualifications you'll ever need, you don't have to compromise your convictions, work angles, drop names or do special favors. The part is yours because you were born for it! That also means you need never be jealous of or intimidated by anybody else, no matter how talented, popular or successful they are.
In God's eyes there are no other contenders. You're it! You're the only one who can fill the slot, because He created it with you in mind. Isn't that a nice, secure feeling?
Today's Prayer
Father In Heaven; THANK YOU for choosing me! Thank You for equipping me to be "ME"  Help me today to realize the importance of being me, in the situations that You bring me into. Use "ME" for Your glory. In Jesus Name. ~Amen.

Favorable Conditions
What You Help To Make Happen For Others, God Will Make Happen For You.
Today's Word
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. ~James 1:17
Today's Thought
The word "opportunity" has come to be so closely associated with the chance to make a lot of money that we often forget it has many other meanings. An opportunity is a situation in which you can make a difference, a set of conditions that is ripe with possibilities for growth, improvement, positive experience and accomplishment.
Yes, there are plenty of opportunities to make money, yet we must not be so focused on them that we sail right past all the other great opportunities. A lost opportunity never comes back, so we must seize them where we find them.
Each day presents all kinds of opportunities -- to learn, to find joy, to offer encouragement toward others, to help, to comfort, to strengthen relationships, to experience new things, to overcome challenges. Opportunities are life's way of urging us on. Only when we seize them and make the most of them do we move forward.
Every day is filled with opportunities. With favorable conditions. How many of them are you seeing? How many are you utilizing? There are plenty of opportunities available to everyone. Those who value, respect and live out the opportunities are who we refer to as winners.
You have a wealth of opportunity in this day that God has given you.
See it and use it!
Today's Prayer
Father In Heaven; Help me to see past any "Problems" today and see the Favorable conditions. Help me to see what You want me to see and to act as You want me to act. Today is a Gift! That's why we call it The Present! USE ME for Your Kingdom Today. In Jesus Name. ~Amen.

Today's VERSE from Heartlight

VERSE:
Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.
-- Proverbs 16:19 (KJV)

THOUGHT:
What is your source of significance? This proverb challenges us to view the world upside down to the rest of culture. Humility and association with the lowly and oppressed are valued by God. Abusive power and arrogance are not. God didn't just give us this proverb; he sent us his Son to demonstrate it. Now if we can only learn to live it. Ah! But Jesus does give us the opportunity to demonstrate it when he says, "Follow me!" (cf. John 13)

PRAYER:
Father, I do recognize my weakness and vulnerability to temptation, to the lure of my culture's facades, and to the
pressure to be like the "popular crowd." Thank you for Jesus, who had power but displayed humility, who had position but identified with the abandoned, forgotten, and rejected. Please use me to be a difference-maker in my world by including those who are left out, forgotten, and disenfranchised.
In Jesus name. Amen!

Are You Positive?

Today's Word

As he thinketh in his heart, so is he. ~Proverbs 23:7

Today's Thought

Are you a positive person? Before you answer, check out the following attributes of positive people:

1. They believe in themselves. Dr. Joyce Brothers said, "Many people succeed even when others don't believe in them, but rarely does a person succeed when he doesn't believe in himself."

2. They look for the best in others, and usually find it. People will generally rise to meet your expectations. Your words of encouragement become the wind beneath their wings.

3. They see opportunity everywhere. Opportunities are all around us just waiting to be seized. Always try to say "yes," because nothing good happens for people who always say "no."

4. They focus on solutions. Anybody can see problems, faith-filled people focus on solutions. Ever notice how things turn out best, for those who make the best of how things turn out?

5. They look for ways to give back. Psychiatrist Carl Menninger says, "Generous people are rarely mentally ill, because giving to others is the highest level of living."

6. They are persistent. Many people fail because they subscribe to the adage, "If at first you don't succeed - try something else!" Dreams come true for those who refuse to let discouragement get the upper hand.

7. They take responsibility for themselves. Positive people understand that nothing good happens until you're willing to step forward and take responsibility for your thoughts and actions. Only then can you look yourself in the eye, discover your strengths and weaknesses, and begin to change.

Today's Prayer

Father In Heaven; forgive me for sometimes being a Negative person. I will determine today to take my "Thoughts" into captivity and make them Positive! Because You live in me I know "WE" can do this! In Jesus name. ~Amen.

Today's VERSE from Heartlight

VERSE:
Whom [Tychicus] I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that
ye might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts.
-- Ephesians 6:22

THOUGHT:
As Paul faced the difficulties of imprisonment, he was more
concerned about the people in Ephesus than he was about himself.
Rather than keeping Tychicus close at hand for his own personal
benefit, Paul sent him back to bless the people in Asia Minor. Even
in his time of difficulty and danger, Paul was concerned more to
bless than he was to be blessed. Isn't that a great example to us
today? We so often get upset about our minor inconveniences and
ruin our attitude toward everyone around us. Paul's example should
convict us and lead us to be a blessing to others regardless of our
circumstances.

PRAYER:
Father, forgive me for letting my difficulties ruin my attitude.
I want to be a blessing to others no matter my personal
circumstances. Convict me with your Spirit when I begin to focus
too much on myself and my situation. Expand my heart with your
grace so that I can use my inconveniences, problems, struggles, and
challenges to be opportunities to share and to display your grace.
In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
