This is SELAH for Tuesday...

Think-Victory-Minded
Fear less, hope more; Eat less, chew more; Whine less, breathe more; Talk less, say more; Love more, and all good things will be yours.
Today's Word
The Lord is my strength and my song; He has given me victory. ~Psalm 118:14
Today's Thought
Do you need more joy, victory, and confidence in your life today? You might need to evaluate what you are thinking about on a daily basis.
If you go around thinking things like, "I'm just average," "I've already reached my limits," or, "I've missed so many good opportunities," those thoughts are going to drag you down. Instead, every morning when you wake up, start your day with thoughts of hope and success.
Determine to be victory-minded. The Bible tells us that what we think about we will become. When you think thoughts of success, victory, joy and peace, your life will be filled with success, victory, joy, and peace.
No matter what's going on in the world around you, remember, as a believer in Jesus, greater is He who is in you than he that is in the world. The Greater One lives inside of you! If God is for you, who can be against you?
You are an overcomer through Christ. So set your mind on victory and move forward into the abundant life He has for you!
The PROOF of a VICTORIOUS life is JOY!
Listen, a positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. ~Trust me.
Today's Prayer
Father in Heaven, thank You for the gift of another day! I choose to be victory-minded and think on good things today. Remind me, Holy Spirit, to stay focused on the blessings and favor that You have in store for me. In Jesus Name. ~Amen.
Do You Need More Positive THOUGHTS

This is SELAH for Monday

Effort
The Problems You Solve Determine The Rewards You Receive.
Today's Word
Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase. ~Proverbs 13:11
Today's Thought
When you've done all you can, do just a little bit more.
Any extra effort you make will draw immense leverage from all the ordinary efforts which have preceded it. That can be powerful and effective.
Almost everyone does just enough to get by. Those who achieve spectacular success also do enough to get by; then they add a little bit of extra effort. That little bit of extra effort makes an enormous difference.
Remember water is Hot at 211' but at 212' you got boiling water and steam!
If you're ninety-five percent of the way to outstanding success, doesn't it make sense to go the additional five percent of the way? Extra efforts are quite insignificant when compared to the total effort, and yet they make an enormous difference in the final result. A marathon which takes hours to run, can be won or lost by a matter of seconds.
How can you make an extra effort right now, today? How can you do just a little bit more, a little bit that will make a big difference? In every kind of endeavor, there are ample opportunities for extra effort. Grab those opportunities, embrace that extra effort and transform ordinary mediocrity into bright and shining excellence.
Today's Prayer
Father In Heaven; Empower me today to Modify my Life. Give me the strength and courage to just step things up one notch. Help me to Love More ~ to Pray More ~ so I can be a blessing to You and Others. In Jesus name. ~Amen.

This is SELAH for THURSDAY!

People Choices

When God wants to bless you, He puts a person in your life....When Satan wants to destroy you, he puts a person in your life.

Today's Word

Can two walk together, except they be agreed? ~Amos 3:3

Today's Thought

You can't partner successfully with somebody who doesn't share your goals. When you feel passionately about something, but the other person feels complacent, it's like you're dancing the Macarena with somebody who only wants to waltz. You picked the wrong dance partner!

Never walk anywhere with anyone who doesn't share your passion for what you're doing together. Some issues can be corrected through teaching and leadership - but you can't teach somebody to care! And if they don't care, they'll affect your environment, ruin your productivity and break your rhythm, with constant criticism and complaints.

It's a mistake to use optimism or pressure to force somebody into accepting your goals. They can't run on your fuel or become what they're not, simply because you want them to or believe they can. They must have their own motivation or they'll drain you!

The key to recognizing the right relationships for your life is - listening! People know themselves better than you do, and they'll generally tell you who they are before you get involved with them.

But you've got to listen. If you fail to hear their self-assessments or their confessions because you're too busy giving them your positive-thinking, "Oh-no-that-can't-be-true" speech, you'll miss what you should be hearing. Listen to them - and to the Spirit of God that's within you - and you'll save yourself years and tears of secret disappointment.

Today's Prayer

Father In Heaven; Teach me to Listen to Your Guidance; Give me confidence to trust what "I" hear. I know that I am who I hang out with! So lead me to the "Right" relationships for me and Your plan. Direct me by Your Holy Spirit! In Jesus Name. ~Amen.

This is SELAH for Wednesday

TREASON
Today's Word
Then Joshua said to Achan, "Why have you brought trouble on us? The LORD will now bring trouble on you." And all the Israelites stoned Achan and his family and burned their bodies. ~Joshua 7:25
Today's Thought
Achan stood with the other Israelites and watched God crush the fortified city of Jericho. He heard God say, "Don't take anything for yourselves or the entire nation will suffer." But he chose to act on his desires rather than God's directions. He thought the robe he took was too beautiful to burn. And the gold and silver he hid? Surely God wouldn't miss a few bars. Wrong! Achan did the missing.
Achan missed the significance of God's command. God did not issue a list of invasion suggestions and directions. The orders were to be carried out without hesitation or alteration. God was shaping a people who would obey his Word.
Achan also missed the reason for God's command. Because his perspective was self-centered, he couldn't see what was at stake. God was building a nation of people who understood that private actions lead to public consequences.
Achan believed in the modern saying, "As long as no one else is hurt or sees what I'm doing, I can do it." But his actions led to suffering and humiliation for the nation and death for his own family.
We don't always know how our actions will affect other people. But if we assume that our actions won't affect others at all, we will be making a terrible mistake. We have taken the idea of personal decisions and privacy to the place where we idolize these perceived rights. But is anything "just our business"? How many of your plans and actions today would be changed if someone was right beside you every moment? Remember, others are always involved! God doesn't miss anything. Our desires do not override God's directions.
Today's Prayer
Father In Heaven; Forgive my heart that is sometimes Self-Centered, Stubborn, Disobedient, and Hard! Teach me to understand that what I do affects others, and the stream of blessing that You desire to pour into my life. Today I will walk in Obedience. I will walk AWAY from what is displeasing to You. In Jesus Name. ~Amen.

+ Influence
Your Mouth Is The Multiplier Of Whatever Is In Your Heart.
Today's Word
I will also meditate on all Your work, And talk of Your deeds. ~Psalm 77:12
Today's Thought
What person has the most influence on you? You do! You're constantly talking to yourself, thinking to yourself and aware of your own actions. No person or event can influence your own thoughts and actions anywhere near as much as you can.
So how are you doing? What kind of an influence are you on yourself?
What are you saying to yourself? What example are you setting for yourself? What questions are you asking yourself? Not just at the end of the day, when you're in a contemplative mood, but all day long.
Instead of telling yourself, over and over again, "I'm no good at this", tell yourself "I'm finding ways to get better and better." Instead of asking "Why can't I ever succeed?" ask "What can I do to succeed?" Quit saying "Nobody cares about me or what happens to me." Remind yourself, say it out loud "God cares about me, He is with me, I am not alone, Jesus sent His Holy Spirit to walk with me and to guide my life. I will make it!" (Go ahead say it out loud!)
The thousands of thoughts and actions you take throughout the day have an enormous cumulative effect. They shape your attitude, your effectiveness, and your life. Use the power of Faith Filled thought to create the life you want.
Today's Prayer
Father In Heaven; Forgive my Negative attitude. Touch my life Today with Your Presence. I will work at being Positive. I will become a Positive Influence on Myself, and then others. In Jesus Name. ~Amen.

This is SELAH for Labor Day Monday!

Life!
Life has got to be lived - that's all there is to it. At seventy, I would say the advantage is that you take life more calmly. You know that 'this, too, shall pass!' ~Eleanor Roosevelt
Today's Word
I have set before you life and death, the blessings and the curses; therefore choose life. ~Deuteronomy 30:19
Today's Thought
Every day we have the opportunity to choose thoughts of life and victory or choose thoughts of defeat and despair.  God promises that when we choose His ways, we are choosing life and victory.
Imagine that you're holding a glass of dirty water.  It's full of all kinds of particles, sand, and dirt.  If you were to start pouring good, clean water into that glass and let it overflow, eventually, all the dirty water would be gone and you would have a glass of perfectly clear water.
Your life works the same way.
You are renewed by the washing of the water of the Word of God.
You may be carrying particles of dirt from the past.  You may have old destructive habits or mindsets that you are trying to get rid of.  But the more you pour God's Word into yourself, the more clean and alive everything becomes.  Don't choose to sit around with that mucky, dirty water on the inside of you.  Allow His Word to cleanse you by reading and applying it to your situation every day.
As you choose His Word, you choose His life, and you'll experience His hand of blessing in ways you never dreamed!
Today's Prayer
Father in heaven, thank You for Your promise of life and blessing.  I choose life in You today and invite You to wash me with Your Word.  Help me to stay close to You always.  In Jesus Name.  ~Amen.

This is SELAH for FRIDAY!

LOVE IT!!!

Sunday
Has it ever struck you that the fish bite best on the Sabbath? God's critters tempting decent men. ~James Matthew Barrie
Today's Word
Let us go to the house of the Lord. ~Psalm 122:1
Today's Thought
Recently, a church bulletin announced, The "NO-EXCUSE SUNDAY!"
It read: "To make it possible for everyone to attend church next week we're planning to have 1. Cots, for those who say Sunday is their only day for sleeping-in, 2. Eye-drops, for those whose eyes are tired from watching too much TV the night before, 3. Steel helmets, for those who say the roof will fall in if they go to church, 4. Blankets, for those who say the building is too cold, and fans for those who say it's too hot, 5. hearing aids, for those who say the pastor isn't loud enough, and ear plugs for those who say he shouts too much, 6. Score cards, for those who like to count all the hypocrites, 7. Relatives, for those who say Sunday is their only day to be with the family, 8. Lunch, for those who say they can't attend church and make dinner too, 9. Trees and grass, for those who say they "see God in nature" - especially golf courses! And finally, 10. Christmas Poinsettias and Easter Lilies, for those who wouldn't recognize the church without them."
Now, listen to what David said about going to church: "I love the house where you live, O Lord, the place where Your glory dwells" (Psalm 26:8). Listen again, "I rejoiced with those who said to me, 'Let us go to the house of the Lord'" (Psalm 122:1).
Do you feel that way too?
If so - see you Sunday!
Today's Prayer
Father In Heaven; I Love You, I Love Your Word, I Love Your Presence, I Love Your House! Help me to make it to "Church" this Sunday. Help me to invite and bring a friend!! In Jesus Name. ~Amen.

TENNESSEE FOOTBALL

BLESSING TO ALL...PLEASE FORWARD...GOD BLESS AMERICA.

This   is a statement that was read over the   PA system   at the football game  at  Roane  County High School , Kingston , Tennessee , by  school  Principal, Jody McLeod

"It   has always been the custom at Roane County High  School  football games, to say a prayer and play  the National Anthem, to  honor God and  Country."

Due  to a recent ruling by  the Supreme Court, I am told that saying a   Prayer is a violation of Federal Case Law. As I  understand  the law at this time, I can use this  public facility to approve of  sexual perversion  and call it "an alternate life style," and if   someone is offended, that's OK.

I   can use it to condone sexual promiscuity, by  dispensing  condoms and calling it, "safe sex.."  If someone is offended,  that's  OK.

I  can even use this public  facility to present the merits of killing  an  unborn baby as a "viable! means of birth  control." If  someone is offended, no  problem...

I  can designate a school  day as "Earth Day" and involve students in   activities to worship religiously and praise the  goddess  "Mother Earth" and call it  "ecology.."

I  can use literature,  videos and presentations in the classroom that   depicts people with strong, traditional  Christian  convictions as "simple minded" and  "ignorant" and call it   "enlightenment.."

However,  if  anyone uses this facility to honor GOD and to  ask HIM to  Bless this event with safety and good  sportsmanship, then Federal  Case Law is  violated...

This  appears to be  inconsistent at best, and at worst,   diabolical.
Apparently,   we are to be tolerant of everything and anyone,  except GOD  and HIS  Commandments.

Nevertheless  , as a  school principal, I frequently ask staff and  students  to abide by rules with which they do  not necessarily agree. For me  to do otherwise  would be inconsistent at best, and at worst,   hypocritical... I suffer from that affliction  enough  unintentionally. I certainly do not need  to add an intentional   transgression.

For  this reason, I  shall "Render unto Caesar that which is   Caesar's," and refrain from praying at this   time..

"However,  if you feel  inspired to honor, praise and thank GOD and ask   HIM, in the name of JESUS, to Bless this event,  please feel  free to do  so.   As   far as I know, that's not against the   law----yet."

One  by one, the people  in the stands bowed their heads, held hands  with  one another and began to pray.

They   prayed in the stands.. They prayed in the team  huddles. They  prayed at the concession stand and  they prayed in the Announcer's   Box!

The  only place they didn't  pray was in the Supreme Court of the United   States of America- the Seat of "Justice" in the  "one nation,  under GOD."

Somehow,    Kingston , Tennessee Remembered what so many  have  forgotten. We are given the Freedom OF  Religion, not the   Freedom FROMReligion..  Praise GOD that HIS remnant  remains!

JESUS  said, "If you are  ashamed of ME before men, then I will be ashamed   of you before MY FATHER.."

This is SELAH for Thursday

The Struggle
The truth is that our finest moments are most likely to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy, or unfulfilled. For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start searching for different ways or truer answers. ~M. Scott Peck
Today's Word
The Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, so that he pursued the Israelites, who were marching out boldly. ~Exodus 14:8
Today's Thought
Overprotective parents do their children a great injustice.
The caterpillar that lies inside the cocoon will never become the beautiful butterfly if someone cuts open the cocoon prematurely. It is the struggle itself that allows the butterfly to emerge as a strong, new creature of nature.
God understands how necessary this process is. That is why we are allowed to experience difficult, often life-changing events. He even orchestrates them-all for our benefit.
What the Israelites thought was a cruel joke when Pharaoh sent troops to pursue them after they had been freed and penned against the shore of the Red Sea became the stage for the most publicized miracle of all time-the parting of the Red Sea. Generation after generation has heard this incredible story of deliverance. God puts us against the "Red Seas" in order to show His power in and through us. If we do not know God can deliver, then we can never learn to trust Him. Circumstances that go beyond our capabilities of solving place us at God's complete mercy. This is how He likes it.
Do not fear the calamity that comes your way. If you are faithful to Him in the test, you will see God's power manifested like never before. Just as the Israelites were able to sing a song of deliverance, you too will have your own testimony of the Lord's faithfulness; and you will be able to recall it for others to build your faith and theirs.
Today's Prayer
Father In Heaven; Help me to "SEE" what You are trying to make of me! If it will bring Glory to You and create in me the person You need me to be, then struggle I will. Help me to Grow in my present trial and learn to trust You more in the process. In Jesus Name. ~Amen.

This is SELAH for Wednesday!

IF!
When I look back on all these worries, I remember the story of the old man who said on his deathbed that he had had a lot of trouble in his life, most of which had never happened" ~ Winston Churchill
Today's Word
Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it] and He will sustain you; He will never allow the [consistently] righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall, or fail.) ~Psalm 55:22
Today's Thought
Either you carry the burden, or let God carry it. The choice is yours!
How does God sustain us? One day at a time!
Remember the Israelites in the wilderness? Each day God fed them by sending manna from heaven. But like us, some of them wanted to make sure they'd have enough for tomorrow. (Just in case God forgot). But God would only allow them to collect enough for each day. If they collected more - it rotted. Think: worrying over the future is like trying to store up manna for tomorrow; before you know it you feel rotten.
Your Heavenly Father Wants You To Give Tomorrow To Him Because It's Too Big For You!
Are you being tormented by the what if's? What if the money doesn't come? What if I get hurt, or seriously ill, or lose my job? What if I'm lonely all my life? What if I'm not really hearing from God and make a mistake? The Bible calls these "imaginations" (2 Corinthians 10:5). You're imagining the worst. Paul says, "cast them down," for if you don't, you'll live in dread concerning things that haven't happened, and probably never will, unless you create them through fear (Job 3:25).
Try This:Every evening turn your worries over to God. He's going to be up all night anyway.
What if you reason and reason and figure it all out - then God surprises you and does something different? All that time would be wasted! Haven't you wasted enough time worrying? Here's an idea: what if you just relax, and let God be God?
Today's Prayer
Father In Heaven; THAT'S IT! I QUIT !  ~ I quit worrying; I quit being afraid; I quit thinking about yesterday;  I quit focusing on the negative; I quit trying to fix everything & everyone; I quit trying to carry everything myself. I cast, throw, drop "ALL" my problems on YOU. In Jesus Name. ~Amen.
