Wednesday's SELAH...

Timing
The best time to plant a tree is twenty years ago. The second best time is now.
Today's Word
For the vision is yet for an appointed time and it hastens to the end [fulfillment]; it will not deceive or disappoint. Though it tarry, wait [earnestly] for it, because it will surely come... ~Habakkuk 2:3
Today's Though
God has planted seeds of greatness on the inside of you, and He has predestined that those things in your heart come to pass. You may have had more than your share of unfair things happen in your life. You probably have plenty of reasons to just settle where you are. But understand, the depth of your past is an indication of the height of your future.
If you've been through a lot of negative things in the past, it just means that your future is bigger and brighter and greater than you can even imagine. It's your time to step out and embrace all that God has for you! Are there dreams and promises that you've let go of? Are there things that God has placed in your heart, but because of time, because of disappointments, you've given up on them?
Today is the day to give your dreams a new beginning. Today is the day to allow faith to rise in your heart. Remember, what's happened to you is not nearly as important as what's happened in you, and you are stronger and wiser than ever before. It's your time; it's your season to move forward into the destiny that God has prepared for you!
 Today's Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for the destiny that You have placed in my heart. I choose to stand in faith knowing that You are working behind the scenes on my behalf. I am confident that I will embrace all that You have for me. In Jesus Name. ~Amen.

Tuesday's SELAH

Others

You cannot hope to build a better world without improving the individuals. To that end, each of us must work for our own improvement and, at the same time, share a general responsibility for all humanity, our particular duty being to aid those to whom we think we can be most useful. ~Marie Curie 1867-1934

Today's Word

Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven. ~Matthew 5:16

Today's Thought

Maria Sklodowska was born in Warsaw, Poland, and went on to become the first woman to win a Nobel Prize. She began studying at the Sorbonne in 1891, and was the first woman to teach there. She was also the first woman in France to earn a PhD and married Pierre Curie, who taught, physics at the University of Paris. They found that the uranium ore, or pitchblende, contained much more radioactivity than could be explained solely by the uranium content.

They then searched for the source of the radioactivity and discovered two highly radioactive elements, radium and polonium, which won them the 1903 Nobel Prize for Physics. Curie named polonium after her native country.

In 1906, her husband Pierre died when he was run over by a horse-drawn wagon. Madame Curie next won the 1911 Nobel Prize for Chemistry for isolating radium. She said, `We must not forget that when radium was discovered no one knew that it would prove useful in hospitals. The work was one of pure science. And this is a proof that scientific work must not be considered from the point of view of the direct usefulness of it. It must be done for itself, for the beauty of science, and then there is always the chance that a scientific discovery may become like the radium a benefit for humanity.'

When World War I broke out, Curie thought x-rays would help to locate bullets and facilitate surgery. It was important not to move the wounded, so she invented x-ray vans and trained 150 female attendants in how to use them. Curie died of leukemia, brought on by exposure to the high levels of radiation involved in her research. The ultimate sacrifice.

Today's Prayer

Father In Heaven; I want to be used for Your Kingdom. I want to touch a life somewhere with Hope! Lead me to those who I can help in some way. At work or home today plant within me a Spirit of compassion and grant me wisdom in word and deed. In Jesus name. ~Amen.

Monday's SELAH

Focus & Attain

Distractions Only Occur With Your Permission.

Today's Word

Do not [earnestly] remember the former things; neither consider the things of old. ~Isaiah 43:18

Today's Thought

It takes effort to focus your mind -- not physical effort but mental effort. Though it is may be difficult, you can, through practice and experience, become better and better at keeping your mind focused. It is indeed worth the effort.

Many shortcomings and disappointments result from the inability to keep your mind focused. Consider how very often you are distracted. Think of the many things you decide to do and then never take action toward. Now, imagine how solidly effective you could be if every effort, every moment were focused on a single objective until it was achieved. The power of a focused mind is enormous.

Focus is difficult at first. The world is so full of distractions and we are naturally attracted to them. But that can be overcome with will, desire and intention. Practice staying focused for longer and longer periods. Make it a priority. Soon, focus will come more quickly, more dependably, and naturally.

Get yourself in focus. Point your substantial energy in a specific, positive direction. It's one of the best things you can do to improve the quality of your life and the world around you.

Today's Prayer

Father In Heaven; Help me to Focus my Mind & Energy on those things today that will bring the most Productivity. I will accomplish "Something" this week that I have been putting off. Lead me and empower me by Your Spirit. I will Focus & Achieve. In Jesus Name. ~Amen.

DEATH to my MYSPACE personal account

Hello!

After Jayar, Kris P Kreme & Leslie at the JOYFM did their burial of their MySpace accounts - I thought about how "often" do I even go to my page on MySpace... hmmmm, I thought and I thought and I can't even remember the last time I logged in to my personal account.

I have a second account as an "Artist" and that one will still be in force...  So I just went in today and deleted all photos, comments, personal info & even my friends - and yes, I cancelled it!

So as my mentors above, I also gave death to MySpace and the burial will be in 48 hours officially!

 GOD'S WORSHIPPERS
Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth."
Juan 4:23-24

Today's VERSE from Heartlight

Sunday, September 27, 2009

The lips of the righteous know what is fitting, but the mouth of the wicked only what is perverse.

Proverbs 10:32 (NIV)

Thought:
How many times have you said just the "wrong" thing? For me, it is more often than I would like to recall. Jesus' words on this topic are indeed convicting to me: "Out of the abundance of the heart does the mouth speak." In other words, poor words and bad timing in our speech are more issues of our heart than issues of social skills and decorum. Let's ask God to purify, mend, and re-focus our heart on his will and passions.

Prayer:
Almighty God, loving and merciful Father, please purify my heart of all evil, hate, duplicity, prejudice, malice, lust and greed. By the powerful name of Jesus, please drive away any evil power or enticing temptation that would corrupt my heart and wound my soul. Fill my heart with love, grace, righteousness, holy passion, gentleness, forbearance, sensitivity, courage, conviction, and forgiveness. Give me discernment to know which of these qualities are needed at any given moment. Sanctify me -- body, soul, and spirit -- with your Holy Spirit. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

The Well Equipped Model

Ability Is What You're Capable Of Doing. Motivation Determines What You Do. Attitude Determines How Well You Do It. ~Lou Holtz

Today's Word

"...I have equipped you..." ~Isaiah 45:5

Today's Thought

Do you feel like you are facing something that is over your head?

You may be facing something big today, but that is a sure sign that you have a big destiny. You may feel small; you may not see how it´s going to work out, but you´ve got to remember who you are: a child of The Most High God. You have been created in His image, and you are equipped to overcome.

When times get tough and you don't see a way out, don´t allow yourself to get discouraged. Dig your heels in and have the attitude, "I've come too far to stop now. This may be extraordinary, but I know I´m an extraordinary person serving an extraordinary God."

Every morning when you wake up, remind yourself that you are equipped.

You are not some stripped down budget model, you where predestined to live Today. And God who made you put in the right options. Trust Him!

You are empowered. You are strong. You are talented. You are creative. You have been armed with strength for every battle. There is no challenge that´s too difficult for you. No sickness that can hold you back. Your enemies may be powerful, but your God is all-powerful.

Success Is The Maximum Utilization Of The Ability That You Have.

So Keep Standing, Keep Believing Because You Are Equipped To Live In Victory In Every Area Of Your Life!

Today's Prayer

Father in heaven, I come before You today with an open and humble heart. Fill me with Your peace and confidence and help me to stand strong in You. Thank You for Your faithfulness today and always. In Jesus Name. ~Amen.

SELAH for Thursday!

Faith Instead of Fear
The Reward Of Love Is The Absence Of Fear!
Today's Word
Be strong, courageous, and firm; fear not nor be in terror before them, for it is the Lord your God Who goes with you; He will not fail you or forsake you. Deuteronomy 31:6
Today's Thought
We have many opportunities each day to worry and live in fear, from being worried about the economy and our health to our family and children, the list could go on and on!
But did you know faith and fear have something in common?
They both ask us to believe something is going to happen that we cannot see. Fear says, "Business is slow. You're going to go under."  But faith says, "Your best days are still out in front of you." When we give in to thoughts of fear, our perspective becomes distorted. Fear is like a fog. It makes things look worse than what they really are. It might look intimidating, but there is nothing really to it, just a bunch of vapors that can fit in a small glass.
Use your energy to believe and not worry. Our God is all-powerful. He has brought you through in the past, and He is going to bring you through in the future.
Surround yourself with people of faith who will speak victory into your life. If you'll be disciplined in your thought life and learn to choose faith instead of fear, you're going be filled with a constant peace and confidence. You were created for a life of victory, not to have your enthusiasm and joy stolen by fear. Choose to walk in faith today.
Remember, it takes the same amount of energy to worry as it does to have faith. So switch your gears to having faith and trusting God. God works everything out for good and to your advantage!
Today's Prayer
Father In Heaven; Help me shift from Fear To Faith! Touch my thought life and help me to "Activate" Faith-Thoughts & Faith-Actions" Today will be a GREAT DAY In Jesus Name. I Refuse to worry, or live in fear. ~Amen.

This is SELAH for Wednesday

"Seeing" God
The whole being of any Christian is faith and love. Faith brings the man to God, love brings him to men. ~Martin Luther
Today's Word
"No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and His love is brought to full expression in us" ~1 John 4:12
Today's Thought
Most people have photos in their home of treasured times as a family or with friends.  You probably enjoy showing those photos to others and sharing those special moments.  But have you ever thought about having a picture of God in your house?  It may not be in a frame on the shelf, but this scripture tells us that when we love others we are creating a picture of God.  We are showing others what He looks like because God is love.
God wants us to know Him.  He wants to reveal Himself in and through us.  He wants us to display His love and share it with others. First Corinthians 13 tells us what love looks like-it's patient, kind, gentle, and so much more.  You are never more like God than when you are loving others. Love never fails.
If you have love in your life it can make up for a great many things you lack. If you don't have it, no matter what else there is, it's not enough.
Love ~ More!  Pray ~ More!  Give ~ More!
Always remember, the greatest thing you could ever have or do is love.  Everything else will fade away, but His love in us and shared by us, is a picture that will last forever!
Today's Prayer
Father in Heaven, I invite You today to show me Your love which lasts forever.  Help me to love others the way You love them so that my life can be a picture of You.  In Jesus Name.  ~Amen.

Attitude Is Everything
Today's Word
A glad heart makes a cheerful countenance, but by sorrow of heart the spirit is broken. ~Proverbs 15:13
Today's Thought
Decide How to React
It is not what happens to you that counts. It is how you react to what happens to you, especially when you have unexpected problems of any kind.
Focus On the Future
Whatever challenges you face, focus on the future rather than on the past. Instead of worrying about who did what and who is to blame, focus on where you want to be and what you want to do. Get a clear mental image of your ideal successful future, and then take whatever action you can to begin moving in that direction. Get your mind, your thoughts, and your Prayers on the future.
Think About the Solution
Whenever you're faced with a difficulty, focus on the solution rather than on the problem. Think and talk about the ideal solution to the obstacle or setback, rather than wasting time rehashing and reflecting on the problem. Solutions are inherently positive, whereas problems are inherently negative. The instant that you begin thinking in terms of solutions, you become a positive and constructive human being.
Look For the Good
Assume that something good is hidden within each difficulty or challenge. Norman Vincent Peale, said, "Whenever God wants to give us a gift, he wraps it up in a problem." The bigger the gift you have coming, the bigger the problem you will receive. But the wonderful thing is that if you look for the gift, you will always find it.
Seek the Valuable Lesson
Assume that whatever situation you are facing at the moment is exactly the right situation you need to ultimately be successful. This situation has been sent to you to help you learn something, to help you become better, to help you expand and grow.
A Positive Mental Attitude Is Indispensable To Your Success. You can be as positive as you want to be if you will simply think about the future, focus on the solution and look for the good. If you do what other successful people do, if you use your mind to exert mental control over your reaction to problems, you will be positive and cheerful most of the time. And you will reap the benefits enjoyed by all successful people.
Today's Prayer
Father In Heaven; Help me to BE A Positive Person! ~AMEN !!
